Its been a wonderfully busy term thats absolutely flown by! I would like to congratulate all our students that have worked so hard towards RAD ballet exams and Acrobatic Arts exams in the last week, Superstars! Enjoy the Christmas break and we look forward to seeing you all again on January 13th!
A huge well done to both our competition teams for their wonderful performance at Alton Towers with Chance2Dance at ‘scarefest’ last weekend. Our dancers performed a 10 minute version of our ‘Alice in wonderland’ choreography followed by a fabulous day in the theme park! Keep your eyes out for the recording which we hope to have ASAP.
Welcome back to the start of a new dancing year! After the success of our summer show we have a lovely term focussing on technique and working towards our exams in the majority of subjects. A special welcome goes out to all our new families, we are thrilled to welcome you to our dance family!
Summer holiday workshops start this week! Every Wednesday in August your child can join us for an action packed day of dancing, singing and arts and crafts. 9-3pm at our studio in Overton. All you need to bring is a packed lunch and plenty of energy! Bookings can be made via our portal or by emailing ballet@marinadance.co.uk. Remember you don’t need to be a current student to attend so please do spread the word to your friends.
Congratulations to our performance squad who attended a ballet intensive this week and put on a beautiful performance of ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’ in just 5 days. We had two performances, indoor at Central studios in Basingstoke and outdoors at Park Farm in Oakley. It was magical! Check out our socials for photos and videos of this event.
A huge congratulations to all our students for taking part in ‘A Magical World’ 2024 full school summer show. You amazed me once again with your confidence and ability shining on stage! We are all very proud teachers.
And guess what?! We’ve already booked our full school show for 2 years time! July 4th/5th 2026!
We are thrilled to announce that after May half term we will be starting brand new dances classes… just for boys! These classes will cover a mixture of genres and really focus on strength, flexibility and fitness. Classes will be held at Testbourne School on Thursdays. We are so lucky to have so many boys in our dance school, sadly they are spread about across all our classes so they can often feel a bit isolated, this is an amazing opportunity to bring them together! We are excited to announce that our Performance squad is performing at this years ‘Scarefest’ at Alton Towers on Friday 13th October. 17 dancers are performing a 10 minute dance routine featuring all our favourite spooky tracks. Our competition team are holding their next showcase on Saturday 28th Jan at Theatre 1803 in Andover from 6pm. Our Friday musical theatre class will also be making an appearance with two all singing all dancing routines. All welcome to come and watch, tickets will be available to buy on the door.
Please join us for our last adult workshop in 2022…a Christmas latin special. Evie will be teaching a festive Lindy hop and Jive routine, no partner or experience necessary…just a good sense of humour! Tuesday 13th December from 7-8pm, £8 per person.
